Tips From Bobby Knight

  • Only take shots that have over a 50% chance of going in.
  • If it is a pressuring man to man defense, you have to take the ball to the bucket, catch the ball, face, fake and drive.  Do that, do it well and you’ll be on the foul line.
  • Winning is a by-product of preparation and work at practice.
  • When teams press you, attack and try to score making the defense pay an immediate price for extending its pressure.
  • You do not have to score to be a good basketball player.
  • Emerson said, “Nothing great ever is accomplished without enthusiasm”.
  • A good defensive player never loses sight of the basketball, because it is the ball that has to be stopped, not the player.
